 Rescue Stories for April 2008

In April we rescued Rosalee a mom with 4 kittens, who tested positive for FELV.  We also rescued April another Mom with 6 kittens, who tested positive for FIV.  Hopefully the kittens will test negative and will be adoptable.

We also rescued 5 kittens whose mom was killed crossing the street.  The kittens were bottle feed for a couple of weeks until they could eat on their own.  They are currently healthy and doing well.  They will be going on to their forever homes soon.

A fourth group of 5 Kittens were captured by the owner of the Old Thyme Shop in Norton and surredered to Nine Lives of Norton.  They are currently in foster care and will be ready for adoption very soon.

Next we rescued Snowball, Rembrandt, and the 3 TP (toilet paper) kittens, Scott, Charmin, & White Cloud.  We don't see many white felines, and to see 5 all at once was exciting.  Snowball is currently at the shelter waiting for his forever home.

Our next new resident was Onion.  Onion is a handsome Abbyssinian, who wandered onto an elderly gentleman's porch looking for food and help.  Onion had a broken limb which required an expensive and delicate surgery.  The cost of this was $2000.00 which was divided between Nine Lives of Norton and the Attleboro Veternary Clinic.  Onion is recovering nicely and will hopefully be ready to go to a forever home very soon.

We also welcomed into the shelter, Kylie.  Kylie's owner moved into an apartment and was unable to keep Kylie, she sadly surrendered her to us. Kylie is a sweet and gentle feline.  She will find a forever home soon.
